报告题目:Future activities in the field of composite structures
报告内容
The presentation gives at the beginning a general overview of the German Aerospace Center (DLR). It follows an overview of the research activities on composite structures of the organisations: DLR-Institute of Composite Structures and Adaptive Systems in Braunschweig, CFK-Valley e.V. in Stade and the Faserinstitut Bremen e.V. of the University Bremen. Finally, selected proposals for a possible future collaboration in the field of composite structures are presented. Carbon fibre-reinforced plastic (CFRP) – one of the most advanced materials of our age – is stronger than steel and lighter than aluminium, and is therefore ideal for lightweight construction. Lightweight aircraft save fuel, and thus costs. The production of the high-performance material CFRP remains comparatively costly and elaborate. Nevertheless, the use of CFRP is becoming increasingly widespread for aerospace, automobile construction or in the manufacture of rotor blades for wind turbines. The future is likely to see a further reduction in the weight of CFRP structures or the inclusion of additional functions into the material. Ongoing research into the behaviour of the material when subjected to damage and environmental influences and the integration of additional features needs to provide answers to currently unresolved questions.
